Individual Counseling: Trauma, Grief, and Healing
Individual Counseling means helping adults dealing with trauma, grief, depression, shame, body image, self-esteem, anxiety, and more. I’m able to help individuals come to terms and begin to heal from past worries and wounds, in order to change their life in the present. Do you have a vision for how you want your life to be, but feel “stuck” and can’t get there?
I offer a collaborative, client driven form of individual counseling. I’m able to help you figure out what works for you, what your strengths are, and what wounds are stuck and festering in you–waiting to heal.
I draw heavily upon Mindfulness techniques in all my work–sometimes using biofeedback, meditation, and wilderness. I track your progress from session to session through a short questionnaire and also through biofeedback, which measures your level of relaxation and balance (or “coherence“).
In addition to individual counseling for grief, healing, trauma, or shame, I also offer counseling to explore questions of privilege, race, and culture. Individual Counseling sometimes leads to relationship work (at least when you do it with Driftless Counseling!). As you heal past wounds I might help you write a letter, create a ceremony, or even help you invite someone to come with you. I’m excited to start this journey with you–contact me to schedule your first session.
